Eulogies and Research

One of the aspects in my role as a Funeral Celebrant is assisting a family in putting together a eulogy honouring their loved ones life.

And I really love this part of what I do.

.

I sometimes have to research certain things, particularly when the service is for someone who has migrated to Australia, either as a refugee, or just seeking a better way of life for their family. Things that I research are vessels that they came on and where they were placed on their arrival

Just this morning I have done some research on migrant hostels/camps in New South Wales, and it has made for some very interesting reading! I didn't know there were so many.

Who would have thought that me, someone who really did not like history at school, loves to learn about these things and more!

You have got to love what you do, and I most certainly love what I do!
