Funerals and Memorials

Since embarking on full-time funeral celebrancy in May 2008, I have presided over numerous services. This facet of my celebrancy business has proven to be incredibly fulfilling and, in a way, humbling. The opportunity to connect with grieving families, learn about their loved one's life, create a meaningful service, and then officiate in accordance with the family's wishes has been a rewarding journey.

Regrettably, funerals are an inevitable part of the circle of life. At some point in our lives, we all have to face the loss of someone close and dear to us and may find ourselves involved in organizing a farewell ceremony for that person.

While undoubtedly a somber occasion, a funeral can also serve as a time to celebrate the life of your loved one. It's an opportunity to focus on the positive and joyful moments that enriched their years. After all, individuals accomplish and experience many meaningful things in their lives—why not celebrate those achievements? It's also a moment for reflection and reminiscing about the shared memories.

Typically, the funeral arrangements begin by contacting a funeral director. Funeral directors play a crucial role in handling the logistics for your loved one and family, assisting in the decision-making process.

Many funeral directors collaborate with celebrants regularly. They inquire about your preference for a female or male celebrant and choose one that suits your family. However, regardless of the funeral director chosen, you have the freedom to appoint any celebrant you prefer. Whether you've witnessed a celebrant's work at a previous ceremony or they've conducted services for your family or friends, you can inform the funeral director of your choice during your meeting.

Undoubtedly, navigating through this experience can be overwhelming, given the multitude of considerations. I am here with you every step of the way, offering assistance, answering your questions, and providing guidance throughout this process.
